Srinagar, Nov 08 (KNS): The Food Safety Department in Kashmir recently conducted surprise raids in Srinagar district, leading to the sealing of two sweets and bakery manufacturing units.
"A total of 1.5 quintals of sweets were seized during these operations. Acting on specific information, the Food Safety wing of the Drugs & Food Control Organization in Kashmir, including the Intelligent Cum Legal Cell and Food Safety Wing Srinagar, conducted surprise inspections in Bemina, Qamarwari, and Dalgate areas," an official said.
They found that two sweets and bakery manufacturing units were operating in violation of the provisions of FSSA 2006, producing items under unsanitary and unhygienic conditions, which led to the sealing of both units.
