Srinagar, Nov 30 (KNS): In a powerful display of communal unity, Hindus and Muslims in Jammu's Bathindi area on Saturday came together to protest against the recent killings of Muslims in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh.
The joint protest, which saw people from both communities raising slogans against the UP administration, was a call for justice and an end to the violence.
Dr. Rajinder Thapa, a local community leader, addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of maintaining Hindu-Muslim unity. "We have to keep our brotherhood intact. This is a ploy to disrupt Hindu-Muslim unity," he said. He also condemned the tragic events in Sambhal, where five people were killed and several others were injured. "An inquiry should be initiated against the administrators of Sambhal," Dr. Thapa demanded, highlighting the need for accountability and justice.
A local clerk, also part of the protest, expressed concern over the growing tensions. "It seems like there is a hidden hand from the government and agencies to undermine the constitution of the country," he said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He further questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s stance, referring to the long-standing tradition of sending a 'Chadar' to Ajmer Sharif Dargah. "Since independence, every Prime Minister has paid their respects at Ajmer Sharif. Mr. Modi, haven't you sent the Chadar?" the protestor questioned, urging the government to break its silence on the matter.
The protestors demanded that the government take immediate action to address the grievances of the Muslim community, insisting that continued silence could harm the fabric of the nation. "The harassment of Muslims must stop, and the Prime Minister must speak out. If this continues, the very constitution of the country will be murdered," said the protestor, echoing the sentiments of those present at the rally. (KNS)
