Kunzer, Baramulla (KNS): Gofbal village in Kunzer is without water from last 20 days with local residents traveling 3 kilometers everyday by foot to fetch buckets of water in this northern Kashmir village of Baramulla districts.
“We have staged protests and even made physical visits to our MLA Farooq Ahmad Shah at his Srinagar residence and concerned JE but our requests about absence of water in our village have been dumped away by these authorities”. Locals told Kashmir News Service.
Everyday in this chilling winter villagers travel to next village which is some 3 kilometers away from our village and fetch water in buckets, and our concerned authorities are acting deaf and dumb towards this matter,” said a local women Saleema Begum of Gofbal village.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
“We have even requested the concerned department to allow water supply tankers in our village in order to avoid water crisis in these circumstances but nobody cares,” said Ishfaq Parwaz.
When this reporter contacted concerned JE Sumeer Ahmad admitted that the village is going thorough water shortage but assured that he will look into the matter.
“Water supply will be restored till tomorrow and I am also sending a water tanker supply to the area tomorrow hopefully,” Ahmad assured.(KNS)
