Srinagar May 21 (KNS): On the 34 th Martyrdom anniversary , Jammu and Kashmir Awami Action Committee (AAC) paid glowing tribute to its founding chairman Shaheed-e-Millat Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq and the martyrs of Hawal on 21 st May 1990 . AAC also pays glowing tributes to shaheed e Hurriyat Khwaja Abdul Ghani lone sahab on his 22nd Martyrdom anniversary.

AAC said that Shaheed-e-Millat was a leader of the people and for the people, whose brief life bears witness to his complete dedication to them . His journey from a young Mirwaiz at the age of 17 , to an energetic force during the moi muqadas agitation , to a bold and fearless trailblazer, tortured and incarcerated for spearheading the people’s struggle for realisation of their aspirations and will, to a peacemaker among adversaries , to a mature and wise statesman advocating dialogue and deliberation, to a martyr who gave the supreme sacrifice of his life . AAC said that it is the extreme misfortune of the people that they lost such an evolved and visionary leader in the prime of his life , who had the ability and wisdom to steer them in the ups and downs of Kashmiris political upheavals.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
AAC said that his services as a religious and social figure are unforgettable and always recounted by people .

AAC said that the shaheed Mirwaiz will always be remembered and respected by the people of J& K and of the subcontinent. He lives in the hearts of the Kashmiri people, who love him and remember him with affection

AAC regretted that it could not organise any rallies or events to commemorate and pay homage to their beloved leader , as the authorities would not allow it , especially at Eid gah today where people wanted to gather and pay their respects to the departed leader. AAC said that its chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq continues to be under arbitrary house detention again since the 3rd of May and could not even participate in any commemorative event on the martyrdom anniversary of his late father.

Reiterating its pledge , AAC said that it will continue to follow the late Qaids path of realisation of people’s rights and will through peaceful and democratic process of dialogue , for which Awami Action Committee was formed .(KNS)
