Bandipora, 10 Nov (KNS): The District Hospital Bandipora in north Kashmir has banned medical representatives from entering the hospital premises before 03 pm.
An order copy available with Kashmir News service reads that the doctors have been advised to refrain from meeting Medical representatives before 03 PM.
Doctors have been asked to dedicate their OPD timings only to patients.
Locals said that the MRs in the name of promoting their products coax doctors into prescribing their expensive medicines. Ultimately, it is the poor patients, who bear the brunt of these expensive medicines, prescribed by doctors.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelMoreover, these MRs waste valuable time on doctors, which is meant for patients, they added.
However, experts believe that there was no need for doctors to meet the MR’s in government hospitals. They said some of the best government hospitals had already banned MR's entry into the hospital premises.
Meanwhile, Dr Mohd. Shafi Koka Medical Superintendent District Hospital Bandipora has issued a circular to doctors to refrain from such activities and warned them that action will be taken if any MR is found in their OPD ward. He has strictly asked doctors to dedicate their OPD hours only to patients.” (KNS)
