Administrative Reforms, Inspections, and Trainings Department Conducts Inspection of Horticulture Directorate

 

Srinagar, July 19 (KNS): The Administrative Reforms, Inspections, and Trainings Department conducted a comprehensive administrative inspection of the Directorate of Horticulture, Kashmir. The inspection team was led by Dr. Kabir Dar, Secretary Technical Administrative Reforms, Inspections, and Trainings Department, along with other senior officials. The team reviewed records, discussed ongoing projects, and explored future integrative schemes aimed at generating higher yields. Director Horticulture, Zahoor Ahmed Bhai, and other senior staff engaged in one-on-one discussions regarding various departmental activities.

Administrative inspections are crucial for assessing the operational efficiency of government departments. They help evaluate the implementation of policies and programs, ensuring alignment with the model proforma devised by the ARI for desired outcomes and public good. Horticulture plays a pivotal role in the economy of Jammu and Kashmir. The Directorate is responsible for establishing and maintaining fruit and vegetable markets in production zones, enhancing marketing connectivity, and facilitating the direct supply of fruits to potential markets. This includes the distribution of fruits from Jammu & Kashmir to other parts of India and international markets. Notably, Jammu and Kashmir received first prize at the International Agriculture and Horticulture Expo-2024.

The inspection led by Secretary Dr. Kabir and other senior officers underscores the commitment of the ARI & Trainings Department to assist and guide government organizations in enhancing their administrative and operational efficiency, thereby contributing significantly to the economy and overall development of Jammu & Kashmir.(KNS)
