Advisory Issued for Pony Wallas in Gulmarg

Gulmarg, April 8 (KNS):The Gulmarg Development Authority (GDA) Chief Executive Officer Tariq Hussain, has issued a strict advisory for all registered pony wallas operating in the tourist hub of Gulmarg. The decision comes in response to multiple reports of violations, including pony wallas deviating from designated routes and engaging in unprofessional behavior with tourists.

According to the advisory, all pony wallas must strictly adhere to the officially designated routes. Any deviation will be considered a serious offense and dealt with under relevant legal provisions.

The advisory further stresses that pony wallas must charge tourists only as per the rates approved by the Tourism Department. Attempts to overcharge or demand arbitrary fares will invite legal consequences.

CEO Tariq Hussain emphasized the importance of professional conduct, stating that harassment of tourists, causing overcrowding, or any misbehavior will not be tolerated.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelSuch actions tarnish the image of Gulmarg and the broader tourism sector, he noted.

In an effort to maintain order and transparency, all pony handlers are now required to wear proper uniforms and display valid ID cards during business hours. Moreover, no pony is to be left roaming freely in Gulmarg during day or night, with violators facing strict action.

The advisory also introduces a “One Person One Pony” rule, effective immediately, to prevent misuse and overcrowding. The Pony Association has been directed to deploy volunteers to ensure cleanliness and the smooth movement of ponies on tracks and stands.

“This advisory has been issued to ensure the safety, well-being, and positive experience of tourists while upholding professionalism in services,” the order reads KNS. (KNS)
