Jammu, Nov 12(KNS): PDP leader Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi, while attending a panel discussion organized by the United Peace Alliance in Jammu, expressed his support for the recent resolution on the restoration of Article 370.
However, he pointed out its limitations, stating that the resolution fell short in effectively conveying the people's concerns to Delhi.
"While we support the resolution, it was weak and lacked the strength to address the gravity of the issue," said Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi. "It merely expressed light concern over the unilateral move that has hurt the people of Jammu and Kashmir."
The PDP leader suggested a more assertive approach, urging the National Conference (NC) to introduce a bill in Parliament during the upcoming session to restore the original Article 370 as it stood in 1953, with the support of the INDIA alliance. He emphasized that a stronger, legislative course of action was needed to ensure the issue gained proper attention.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi also stressed the importance of inclusivity in the resolution, particularly regarding Ladakh. "If the resolution calls for the restoration of Article 370, it cannot overlook Ladakh. Ladakh must also be included in this demand," he asserted.
The PDP leader's remarks underline his call for a comprehensive approach to addressing the concerns of both Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, advocating for unity and stronger actions to ensure the rights and aspirations of all regions are fully considered.
After the panel discussion, Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi held a press conference where he elaborated on his views, reinforcing the need for a more inclusive and robust strategy to safeguard the region's interests.(KNS).
