Srinagar, June 6 (KNS): Former Law Minister and senior PDP leader Syed Basharat Bukhari on Saturday appealed to the administration to make adequate arrangements for the upcoming Muharram processions.
In a statement issued to KNS, Bukhari highlighted the religious significance of Muharram processions for the Muslim community and stressed the need for a comprehensive strategy to provide facilities to the mourners.
The PDP leader spoke to Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, urging him to ensure necessary arrangements in Shia-dominated areas of the district, particularly in Wagoora-Kreeri Constituency, including Hygam, Bulgam, Authora, Watergam, and other areas.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Bukhari requested uninterrupted electricity and drinking water supply, quality medical facilities, and installation of pandals and solar lights in and around Imam Bharas to facilitate the mourners.
He also offered assistance to the district administration in providing facilities during Muharram processions and requested the Deputy Commissioner to personally oversee the arrangements. (KNS)
