Ahead of PM visit, operations of aviation devices in Udhampur strictly prohibited

Srinagar, April 11 (KNS): Ahead of PM Modi's visit to Udhampur, authorities have issued advisory to prohibit flying of aviation devices in the district.


"Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Sh. Narendra Modi, is visiting Udhampur to address public meeting on 12/04/2024 and various necessary arrangements are being undertaken by the administration as per SOP, for safe and secure conduct of the rally; and in view of the emerging new security threats due to recent trends of carrying out drones as Improvised Explosive Device by Anti National Elements, it is imperative to strengthen the security measures to maintain law and order," reads an order issued by District Magistrate Udhampur, a copy of which lies with Kashmir News Service (KNS) reads.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

"Now, therefore, I, Saloni Rai (IAS), District Magistrate Udhampur, in exercise of the powered vested upon me under section 144 of the CrPC with a view to ensure proper security arrangements, do hereby prohibit the flying of any kind of aviation devices including Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), Drones, Balloons etc, in District Udhampur,” reads the order.

"This order shall come into force with immediate effect and remain in force till 12/04/2024 (05:00 PM). Senior Superintendent of Police Udhampur shall implementation of this order in letter and spirit," it states further. (KNS)
