Srinagar, May 29 (KNS): Renowned Social Activist and National TV debater, Ahmad Ayaz, has urged for addressing exploitation in private schools and ensuring fair compensation for educated youth.
As per the statement issued here, he emphasized that private schools should inherently serve as a public cause, aiming to contribute positively to society's educational landscape. However, many such institutions are primarily driven by business considerations, focusing on substantial financial gains rather than their societal obligations. This paradigm has led to a concerning trend of exploitation, particularly concerning the compensation provided to educated youth within these establishments.
It is disheartening to note that a graduate with a B.Tech degree is often offered a mere Rs 6,000 per month by private schools. This figure starkly contrasts with the remuneration earned by a laborer, who receives Rs 600 per day, totaling Rs 15,000 per month even with four days off.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThis glaring disparity raises serious questions about fairness and equity in our educational system.
The exploitation of educated youth not only undermines their efforts and qualifications but also reflects a systemic issue that requires immediate attention and redressal. The administration must prioritize this matter and formulate a comprehensive policy that ensures fair compensation for educated individuals while holding private schools accountable for their societal responsibilities.
Ahmad Ayaz urged stakeholders, including the Director School Education Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Education department, and the Office of LG, J&K, to collaborate in addressing this issue effectively. By doing so, we can create a more equitable and just environment within our educational institutions, benefiting both the workforce and the larger community.(KNS)
