AIP Calls Omar Abdullah’s Government a 'Circus of Contradictory Statements,' Terms It a Mockery of Governance

Srinagar, Dec 15(KNS): Senior AIP Leader and MLA Langate Sheikh Khursheed has slammed the National Conference (NC)-led government, describing it as a "circus of contradictory statements" and a "mockery of governance."

Sheikh Khursheed criticized Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s recent remarks about the dual governance model being a "recipe for disaster" and called it an attempt to shift blame. "Omar Abdullah says the government lacks power when it comes to addressing people's issues, yet his Deputy Chief Minister claims they have full powers, boasting of suspending officers as proof. Who should the people trust?"Sheikh Khursheed questioned.

He further added that the conflicting statements from the NC leadership expose the party's lack of coherence and clarity. "While the Deputy Chief Minister asserts that the government is empowered, the Chief Minister's advisor admits their dependency on the LG even for symbolic decisions like declaring a public holiday on Sheikh Abdullah's birth anniversary. This contradiction highlights the disarray within the NC-led administration."

Sheikh Khursheed also pointed out the NC's failure to deliver on its promises to the people. "The NC's governance is a mockery and such mixed messaging only deepens public distrust.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelIf they cannot even present a united front, how can they address the real concerns of the people?" He further criticized the NC government for its silence on critical issues such as the release of prisoners, leaving families in despair. "People are suffering through freezing nights and days due to erratic electricity amid the harsh winter, while the administration remains indifferent. Adding to this is the students' anguish, who are protesting from Delhi to Srinagar for their rightful demands. This inaction is a glaring example of the government's failure to address the pressing issues of the masses," he said.

The AIP leader reiterated his party's commitment to the restoration of J&K's statehood and special status, urging all stakeholders to prioritize people's rights over political posturing. "The people of Jammu and Kashmir deserve a transparent, accountable and coherent leadership—not this circus of contradictory statements," he said. Sheikh Khursheed concluded by stating that the National Conference must introspect and stop misleading the people. "The people of Jammu and Kashmir are watching and they will not forgive those who exploit their trust for political gains."(KNS).
