Srinagar , October 10 (KNS): Organizing its internal structure, the Awami Itihaad Party (AIP) has established an interim leadership framework. This decision was taken during a day-long meeting held on October 9, 2024, where a four-member committee was assigned the task of forming the party structure, covering roles from District Presidents to the Vice President level. The interim setup will last for one year, after which formal elections will be conducted after completing membership drive which party expects to be completed by 10th of November this year.

The newly appointed office-bearers include Advocate G N Shaheen as Vice President, DDC Chairman Budgam Nazir Ahmad Khan as General Secretary, Inam Un Nabi as Chief Spokesperson, Sheikh Ashiq as State Secretary, Prince Parveez as Provincial President Kashmir, Aijaz Ahmad Khan as Chief Coordinator and Ajaz Ahmad Lone as Organizer and Parveez Ahmad Bhat as Treasurer.

At the district level, Raja Waheed has been named District President Shopian and Advocate Javeed Ahmad Mir as District President Kupwara.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

For media operations, Riyaz Ahmad Sofi has been appointed as Spokesperson for South Kashmir, Advocate Majid Banday and Adv Shahnawaz Abdullah as Spokespersons for North Kashmir, Muzaffar Ahmad Dar as Media Incharge North Kashmir and Mohammad Arif Dar as Media Incharge for South Kashmir. All Media Incharges and Spokespersons will work under the guidance of Chief Spokesperson to ensure coordinated communication efforts.

AIP President and MP North Kashmir, Er Rashid expressed hope that it will bring more discipline and strengthen the party's ability to serve the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He emphasized that this interim phase is a step towards ensuring a transparent, democratic party structure, with formal elections scheduled after one year. The party reaffirmed its commitment to addressing the sentiments and aspirations of the people with a leadership that is accountable and responsive to their needs.(KNS)
