AIP Will Continue Fight and Support for Rationalisation of Reservation Policy

Srinagar, December 23(KNS): The Awami Itihaad Party (AIP) joined the protest led by MP Srinagar Aga Ruhulla, demanding the rationalisation of the reservation policy, following the directions of incarcerated Party Supremo and MP Baramulla Er Rashid.

 
The protest saw active participation from prominent AIP leaders including Senior Leader and MLA Langate Sheikh Khursheed, Vice President G N Shaheen, Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi, Mohammad Akbar, Ajaz Ahmad Lone, Hilal Ahmad, Zameer Dukroo and former BDC Chairman Tahir Ahmad Mir alongside scores of party activists. The demonstration underscored AIP’s unwavering commitment to addressing public grievances and advocating for equitable policies.
 
Party has voiced, from day one, both inside and outside the assembly, its firm stance on the issue and played an instrumental role in protesting against the irrational reservation policy. AIP also actively participated in the protest at Jantar Mantar, led by State Secretary Sheikh Ashiq, to demand a fair and rational reservation policy.
 
Speaking to the media, MLA Langate Sheikh Khursheed remarked, “This protest is a clear and strong message to the government that the current reservation policy lacks rationality and fairness.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelAs suggested to MP Aga Ruhulla, which he agreed, the government should halt the admission and appointment process, which lies within their domain, until the issue is resolved. Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi added, “On the directions of our incarcerated Party Supremo Er Rashid, AIP has joined this protest to demand a rational and just reservation policy. We have consistently supported genuine public issues and will continue to stand resolutely by the people in their fight for equality.”
 
The party’s leaders reiterated their unyielding resolve to uphold justice and equity as envisioned by Er Rashid and pledged to intensify efforts to ensure the voices of the people are heard. The protest marked a significant and resolute step in advocating for fairness and addressing the concerns of marginalized communities in Jammu and Kashmir.(KNS)
