AIPC J&K Condemns Attacks on Kashmiris Outside UT, Seeks Firm Government Action

Srinagar, Dec 29 (KNS): The All India Professionals’ Congress (AIPC), Jammu and Kashmir Chapter, has condemned recent incidents of harassment and attacks on Kashmiri citizens reported from Himachal Pradesh and other parts of the country, calling them unacceptable and against the spirit of the Constitution.

In a statement issued here, AIPC J&K said that Kashmiris are Indian citizens and must be treated with dignity and equality wherever they live or work. The organisation said such incidents cannot be seen as isolated law-and-order issues, but reflect a deeper problem that needs immediate attention.

Sanjay Sapru, State Head of AIPC Jammu and Kashmir, said that targeting people because of their Kashmiri identity goes against the idea of India. He said students, professionals, traders, and workers from Jammu and Kashmir have been living and working across the country for decades and have contributed to local economies and institutions.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Sapru said harassment and violence against them show a failure to protect basic constitutional rights and weaken social harmony. He added that discrimination based on identity damages national unity and trust among citizens.

The AIPC J&K Chapter urged state governments and the Union Government to take clear and strong steps to ensure the safety of Kashmiris living outside the Union Territory. It also appealed to political leaders across party lines to speak out against such incidents and send a clear message that hate, discrimination, and vigilantism will not be tolerated.

The organisation said protecting the rights and safety of every citizen is essential for maintaining unity and democratic values in the country.(KNS)
