Srinagar, April 22 (KNS): Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday expressed deep anguish over the terror attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, and assured that those behind the act will face the harshest punishment.
In a post on X, Shah conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family of the tourist who lost their life in the attack. Terming the incident a "dastardly act of terror," the Home Minister said the perpetrators will not be spared.
"I am anguished by the terror attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. My thoughts are with the family members of the deceased. Those involved in this cowardly act will face the harshest consequences," Shah said.
The Home Minister informed that he had briefed Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the incident and held discussions with top officials via video conferencing.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelShah further stated that he will be leaving for Srinagar shortly to chair an urgent security review meeting with all the concerned security and intelligence agencies.
The attack on tourists in the scenic Pahalgam area has sparked widespread condemnation across Jammu and Kashmir, with political leaders and civil society denouncing the act and calling for unity against such violence.
The security forces have already launched a massive search operation in the area to track down those involved in the attack. (KNS)
