Srinagar, Sep 06 (KNS): Apni Party Chief Altaf Bukhari has condemned the authorities' decision to prevent Mirwaiz Umar Farooq from offering Friday prayers and delivering his sermon at Jamia Masjid.
Bukhari described the ongoing restrictions on Farooq’s religious duties as a violation of personal and religious freedoms.
He argued that such measures undermine the government’s assertions of restored peace and normalcy in the valley, suggesting that these actions instead send a discouraging message to the public.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
"It is unfortunate that the authorities have yet again prevented Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Sahib from offering Friday prayers and delivering his sermon at Jamia Masjid. These repeated restrictions on his religious duties violate both his personal and religious freedoms and are, therefore, unacceptable. Such unwarranted actions not only send a discouraging message to the public but also contradict claims that peace and normalcy have been restored in the valley," Bukhari said.(KNS).
