Srinagar:14 August (KNS): In a significant achievement, Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP) leader and Constituency Incharge Pattan, Hamid Rather, has been awarded the prestigious Millennium Development Fellowship by the United Nations for 2024. This fellowship, which recognizes emerging leaders committed to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), was awarded following an intensely competitive selection process. Over 52,000 applicants from more than 6,000 campuses across the globe vied for the fellowship, with only 5%—representing 280+ campuses—being selected to host the 4,000+ Millennium Fellows this year.
This recognition marks a proud moment for both Hamid Rather and the Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party, as well as his home constituency of Pattan. Rather's achievement underscores his dedication to public service and his commitment to fostering positive change both within his community and on a global scale.

Hamid Rather's impressive academic credentials include triple master's degrees in Convergent Journalism, Public Administration, and Urdu Literature. He has also qualified for the National Eligibility Test (NET) in Public Administration and is currently pursuing an LLB (Honours) at the University of Kashmir. Professionally, Rather serves as a public policy and communication specialist for organizations in India and Germany, further solidifying his role as a leader committed to making a meaningful impact on society.
