Army Launches Probe into Alleged Civilian Ill-Treatment During Operation in Kishtwar

 Jammu, Nov 21(KNS): The Indian Army's White Knight Corps has initiated an investigation into reports of alleged mistreatment of civilians during an operation conducted in the Kishtwar sector on November 20, 2024.

In a post on X, the Army said that the operation was launched based on specific intelligence regarding the movement of a group of terrorists in the area.

It said that the operation, led by the Rashtriya Rifles, aimed to intercept the terrorists, but reports surfaced alleging the improper treatment of civilians during its execution.

Also, the movement of the group of terrorists continues to be closely monitored as the security forces remain on high alert in the region.

"Based on specific intelligence of the move of a group of terrorists in the #Kishtwar Sector, an operation was launched by #RashtriyaRifles on 20 November 2024. There are some reports on the alleged ill treatment of  civilians during the conduct of the operation. An investigation is being launched to ascertain the facts. Necessary follow up action will be ensured.Further move of the group of terrorists is being monitored," the Army said in a post on X.(KNS).
