Erinagar, May 30 (KNS): Ashok Bhan, a noted Senior Lawyer at the Supreme Court of India and a prominent Kashmiri leader, visited the cave shrine of Shri Maha Acharya Abhinav Gupt, a 10th-century Kashmiri Hindu mystic, philosopher, and key proponent of ancient Kashmiri Shaivism. The shrine is located atop a hillock in Beerwah, Budgam district, Kashmir Valley.
During his visit, Bhan reviewed the local infrastructural development aimed at facilitating religious pilgrimage tourism and providing employment opportunities to the local community.
Bhan also engaged with the local Kashmiri Muslim community of Beerwah. He emphasized the need to restore Kashmir's ancient heritage, which he described as a joint legacy of both Kashmiri Pandits and Kashmiri Muslims.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
In his discussion, Bhan highlighted the critical significance of Shri Maha Acharya Abhinav Gupt in the development of Kashmiri Shaivism, also known as Trika Shaivism. He pointed out some of the significant literary works of Shri Maha Acharya Abhinav Gupt, including "Tantra Loka" and "Tantra Sara," which have been instrumental in shaping the contours of Kashmiri Shaivism.
Bhan stressed the importance of taking pride in Kashmir's historical, architectural, cultural, and literary heritage, which he described as the collective legacy of all Kashmiris worldwide.(KNS)
