Anjuman Auqaf Jama Masjid Condemns Repeated Detentions on Fridays

Srinagar, May 03 (KNS): Anjuman Auqaf Jama Masjid on Friday said that its president and Mirwaiz e Kashmir Mohammad Umar Farooq has been again placed under house arrest at his residence this morning, by the authorities and not allowed to address the faithful at Jama Masjid srinagar nor offer obligatory Friday prayers.

In a statement issued here, Anjum expressed deep dismay at the repeated house detention of Mirwaiz especially on the important occasion of Friday, when thousands of people from the valley are gathered at the historic Jama Masjid srinagar to listen to his enlightening Friday sermon.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThey get very sad and disappointed to see the empty pulpit.

Anjuman once again urged the authorities to desist from repeatedly and arbitrarily detaining the Mirwaiz and causing grief to Muslims, the statement added.(KNS)
