Bandipora, Feb 27 (KNS): An avalanche struck Khandiyal village in the Gurez Valley of north Kashmir's Bandipora district on Thursday, partially damaging two residential structures.
An official reported that the incident occurred on Thursday evening, triggered by heavy snowfall in the higher reaches of the Kashmir Valley and Gurez.
In response, the administration has initiated rescue and relief operations to assist the affected families.
The increased snowfall has raised the risk of avalanches in several mountainous regions, prompting authorities to issue warnings for those living in vulnerable areas. (KNS)
