Srinagar January 06 (KNS): Block Development Officer Wavoora, who also is holding the additional charge of Sogam block, on Friday directed the Panchayat Secretaries to initiate cleanliness drive in their respective blocks.
The Block Development Officer Tawheed Ahmad (KAS) while talking to Daily Kashmir Glory said that he has directed all the Panchayat Secretaries to aim for litter-free surroundings, in tandem with the directions from the higher-ups amid ongoing widespread cleanliness drives across the nation.
“As part of the programme and guidelines, the Dry waste littered around has to be collected, segregated and accordingly processed in Plastic Waste Management unit ”, Ahmad said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
“Not only in surroundings but the household waste is also covered in the programme and each household will have to pay thirty rupees per month as user charges for which workers at panchayat level have been hired and they will visit every household for Door to door waste collection and take the waste on a daily basis for proper disposal”, BDO said.
“I request every citizen to act responsibly and participate in the campaign to make it successful, more so to make their surroundings neat, clean and hygienic”, Tawheed said further.(KNS)
