Srinagar, July 25 (KNS): Despite the abrogation of Article 370 being justified as a step towards implementing the Forest Rights Act (FRA) in letter and spirit, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has displayed a troubling anti-tribal mindset in Jammu and Kashmir.
Zubaib Yousf Mir, in a recent post on X, highlighted the grim reality faced by tribal communities, whose small shacks and shanties are demolished on a monthly basis, defying clear directives from the Lieutenant Governor to halt such actions.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Shockingly, since 2019, 85% of forest rights claims under the FRA have been rejected, undermining the rights and livelihoods of tribal communities. This alarming statistic reveals a stark contrast between the BJP’s flowery speeches promising upliftment and their actions, which suggest the exploitation of tribal communities for mere electoral gains.
