Srinagar, Dec 22 (KNS): Top leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir have been convened in Delhi for a two-day office bearers meeting.
The primary agenda of the meeting, which began today, is to deliberate on a strategic plan for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
However sources within the BJP told news agency KNS that the party leadership will also deliberate on the probability of holding early Assembly elections in J&K in accordance with the directives issued by the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court had previously mandated that elections in the Union Territory of J&K should be conducted by September of the following year. In light of this directive, sources within the BJP revealed that the party is actively discussing the holding of Assembly polls in J&K.
Party leaders are considering the implications of adhering to the Supreme Court's timeline and are exploring the feasibility of organizing elections before the stipulated deadline.
Sources familiar with the proceedings stated that the BJP is consistently prepared for elections in the Union Territory; however, the final decision on the timing of the elections, as per the sources, rests with the Election Commission of India, the constitutional body responsible for conducting elections in the country.

The BJP leaders are expected to deliberate on various aspects, including the current political landscape in J&K, the party's strategy.
While the BJP is expressing readiness for early elections, the final decision and subsequent electoral preparations will depend on the Election Commission of India, adding an element of anticipation to the political landscape in the Union Territory.
Meanwhile as per the reports a crucial aspect under scrutiny during the meeting is the evaluation of the flagship schemes and welfare projects introduced by the Narendra Modi-led government.
The discussion will encompass the implementation status and the response of beneficiaries in various States and Union Territories. Party leaders will issue instructions to the cadre to rectify any identified lapses, ensuring that the populace derives the maximum benefit from these initiatives.
Insiders reveal that the ongoing nationwide 'Viksit Bharat Sankalap Yatra' will also be a focal point of discussion in the BJP office bearers meeting. The meeting underscores the BJP's commitment to meticulous planning and the effective execution of its electoral strategy. As the Lok Sabha elections draw nearer, the party aims to refine its approach, considering ground-level preparations and feedback from its state units.
