BJYM Protests Against NC Leader Surinder Choudhary Over Remarks on Dogra Rulers

Jammu March 06 (KNS): The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) Jammu and Kashmir staged a protest today against National Conference (NC) leader Surinder Choudhary in Jammu for his remarks on Dogra rulers. The protestors, led by BJP leaders, raised slogans against the NC and symbolically burnt an effigy of Surinder Choudhary, expressing their strong resentment.

The controversy erupted after Jammu and Kashmir’s Minister for Industries and Commerce, Surinder Kumar Choudhary, made statements regarding the July 13 martyrs. While addressing the media on Wednesday, Choudhary criticized the opposition for its stance on the martyrs and emphasized the importance of respecting those who fought for democracy, constitutional rights, and the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

"Martyrs should be respected, no matter from which community they belong.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThey fought for upholding democracy, safeguarding the constitution, and the rights of the people," Choudhary had stated.

However, his remarks did not sit well with the BJP and its youth wing, who perceived them as an insult to the Dogra rulers. BJYM leaders accused the NC leader of attempting to distort history and undermine the contributions of the Dogra dynasty, which played a significant role in shaping Jammu and Kashmir’s heritage.

The protestors demanded an apology from Choudhary and urged the government to take action against such statements, which they claimed could create communal divisions. The BJP leadership also reiterated its commitment to protecting the legacy of Dogra rulers and ensuring that their contributions to the region’s development are not undermined.(KNS)
