RAMBAN, AUG 14 (KNS): Senior BJP leader and former deputy chief minister Kavinder Gupta on Wednesday said that the inherent flaws in Congress party’s policies had led to the tragic bloodshed during the partition of India in 1947.

The BJP stalwart leader was addressing an impressive gathering during a programme organized by Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha to observe Partition Horrors Remembrance Day here. Arun Parbhat State President BJYM, Rajeshwar District President Ramban, Shyam Singh Katoch, Ramesh Sharma, Rakesh Thakur, Abhishek Salathia State General Secretary, Kulbir Singh, Aditya Koushal, Renuka Katoch, DDC Sunita Sumbaria and Advocate Balbir Bali were also present.

Chief Guest on the occasion, Kavinder highlighted the painful legacy left by the Congress leadership's decisions, which resulted in the loss of countless innocent lives.

“The horrors of partition are a stark reminder of the disastrous consequences of weak and flawed policies of Congress leaders”, he said adding that the Congress leadership's failure to foresee and address the communal tensions brewing in pre-independence India led to one of the darkest chapters in the region’s history.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe said that bloodshed and displacement of millions could have been avoided with stronger and more decisive leadership which was missing in Congress and the situation even today is not much different.

The senior BJP leader also stressed on the importance of remembering such occurrences of the past to ensure that such tragedies never happen again. “As we observe this day, we must pledge to learn from the mistakes of the past and work towards a united and peaceful future for all Indians”, he said and asked the party cadre to remain proactive towards strengthening BJP as Assembly polls are round the corner.

Addressing the gathering, Arun Parbhat urged one and all to honour the memory of those who suffered during the partition by striving for a stronger and more cohesive India. He said that unlike the Congress party’s weaknesses that led to detrimental effects on the country, the present regime led by PM Narendra Modi is prolific, progressive and positive on all aspects steering the country to new heights of progress.(KNS)
