Blood Donation Camp Held at GDC Handwara to Mark World Blood Donor Day 2025

Handwara, Jun 14 (KNS): On the eve of World Blood Donor Day 2025, the Indian Red Cross Society J&K, UT Branch, in collaboration with the District Red Cross Unit Kupwara, GMC Handwara, Kashmir News Service (KNS), and Government Degree College (GDC) Handwara, organized a Blood Donation Camp and Awareness Program at GDC Handwara.

The event was held under the slogan "Give Blood, Give Hope: Together We Save Lives". The camp witnessed an enthusiastic response from students, staff, and members of the community, with more than 50 blood points donated during the day-long drive.

Several prominent officials and dignitaries graced the occasion, including Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Handwara Javeed Naseem Masoodi , Principal GDC Handwara, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Headquarters, Medical Superintendent of Associated District Hospital GMC Handwara Dr Aijaz Bhat, Treasure IRCS J&K UT G A Qureshi
and Station House Officer (SHO) Handwara Vilayat Hussain.

The speakers emphasized the importance of voluntary blood donation and lauded the efforts of the Red Cross and participating institutions in fostering a spirit of social responsibility among the youth.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe camp aimed not only to collect blood donations but also to raise awareness about the critical need for safe blood in healthcare.

Treasure IRCS J&K UT, G A Qureshi on the occasion said that Indian Red Cross Society was always on forefront to address the primary issues in the society. He said that conducting blood donation camps has been the basic essence of IRCS so that those in need at the time of any medical emergency can avail the service.

"We have thousands of volunteers across Jammu and Kashmir but still different awareness programmes are being conducting in different schools and colleges to convince youth to become members of Indian Red Cross Society," he said.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks to all the donors, organizers, and guests who contributed to the success of the program.(KNS)
