CAJK, Sports Council to Host District Cycling Championships in Anantnag, Baramulla from Aug 7

 Srinagar, Aug 2 : The Cycling Association of Jammu & Kashmir (CAJK), in association with the J&K Sports Council, will organise the District Road and MTB Cycling Championships 2026 in Anantnag and Baramulla districts this month.

 
A spokesperson said that the Anantnag championship is slated for August 7 at 10:00 AM, with the race route running from Larkipora Bridge to Shehlipora. The closing ceremony will take place at Government Middle School, Shehlipora.
 
The Baramulla championship will be held on August 12 near the Railway Station in Sopore.
 
The competitions will be conducted in five categories — Under-14, Sub-Junior, Junior, Elite, and MTB (Mountain Bike), the spokesperson added.
 
Interested cyclists have been asked to report with original documents, including Aadhaar Card, Domicile Certificate, Date of Birth Certificate, two passport-size photographs, and bank account details with IFSC Code.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
 
The entry fee has been fixed at ?100 for all categories.
 
In a major incentive for participants, the Association said the top three finishers in the Junior and Elite categories will be selected to represent their respective districts in the UT Cycling Championship, subject to the rules of the Association.
 
For registration and further details, cyclists from Anantnag may contact Sahil Muzaffar (Coordinator), Mushtaq Bhat (Vice President, CAJK), or Akbar Khan (Joint Secretary, CAJK). Those from Baramulla (Sopore) can reach out to Adil Teli, an NIS Qualified Coach.
 
CAJK Honorary General Secretary Om Parkash Sharma appealed to cycling enthusiasts to turn up in large numbers and contribute to the success of the championships.
