Budgam, Nov 3 (KNS) : Conservator of Forests, Srinagar Circle,  Saurabh Sharma, IFS, conducted an extensive review of ongoing forestry activities in the Pir Panjal Forest Division, Budgam.
A review meeting was held at the Divisional Headquarters, Budgam, attended by the Divisional Forest Officer and Range Officers of the division. The meeting focused on assessing progress under various forestry operations, including plantation, nursery development, and Timber marking-related works.
Later, the Conservator inspected several conifer nurseries, where he took detailed stock of the raising of conifer plants and the status of nursery maintenance and expansion works. Sharma appreciated the efforts of the field staff in maintaining plantation quality and directed officers to ensure strict adherence to technical standards, timely completion of targets, and transparency in field operations. He emphasized the importance of continuous monitoring and field verification to achieve sustainable forest management objectives.
The visit concluded with an interaction session, during which the Conservator encouraged the field staff to continue their dedicated efforts towards the conservation and development of forest resources in the Pir Panjal region.(KNS)
