Srinagar, Nov 24(KNS): The Chinar Boat Race 2024 was organized today by the 31 Sub Area Indian Army in collaboration with White Globe NGO and supported by the Lake Conservation and Management Authority (LCMA).
The race, held from Ghat No. 23 to Char Chinar and back, focused on promoting the culture of Kashmir and raising awareness about the conservation of Dal Lake.
The event saw the participation of 60 boats competing for prizes. The winner was awarded ?10,000 and a trophy, while the second and third positions received ?7,500 and ?5,000, respectively.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelConsolation prizes were also distributed to the top 20 participants.
The initiative aimed to emphasize the significance of preserving water bodies and engaging the community through traditional sports. Large crowds, including locals and tourists, gathered along the shores of Dal Lake to watch the event.
