CM Omar Abdullah Defends Praise for Budget, Calls It a ‘Love Letter’ to J&K

Srinagar, March 11 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah hailed the recently presented budget as a "love letter" to the people of J&K, emphasizing the strong support extended by the Union Government.

"Some have said the budget was a love letter to certain parties. I say it was a love letter to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. A love letter is written when there is love," Abdullah remarked while addressing the Assembly.

His remarks come in response to criticism from a section of the opposition, who took exception to his praise for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelNotably, People's Conference leader Sajad Lone had termed Abdullah’s budget speech a "love letter to the BJP."

Unfazed by the criticism, the CM reaffirmed his stance. "I say it openly—I thank them for it. Why should I hesitate to acknowledge it?" he stated, underlining his candid appreciation for the financial support extended to J&K through the budget. (KNS)
