Srinagar, Dec 4 (KNS) Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has directed the General Administration Department (GAD) to enforce a complete ban on re-employment, extensions, additional charges, and attachments in government departments, with exceptions only in extraordinary circumstances.
During a meeting focused on administrative reforms, the Chief Minister discussed key issues, including the functioning of the J&K Public Service Commission, the J&K Service Selection Board, promotions, cadre management, training, and transfers. “Everyone deserves the opportunity to grow,” the Chief Minister remarked, underscoring the need for a merit-based system.
He also instructed the GAD to review existing attachments in the Health & Medical Education and Education Departments, calling for an immediate end to such practices.
To further enhance governance, the Chief Minister advocated linking the Samadhan grievance redress system with other key administrative frameworks to improve service delivery and efficiency. (KNS)
