Jammu, January 14 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, while addressing the 9th Armed Forces Veterans' Day programme in Jammu, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring the welfare of the nation’s veterans, describing it as a moral and national duty.
“It is our duty to ensure that you face no difficulties, no worries, and no problems. This is not a favour; it is our responsibility to pay back the debt we owe you,” Abdullah declared at the event according to KNS correspondent which was also attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
He expressed deep gratitude for the sacrifices of the armed forces, saying, “You are the people who did not care about your lives or future for the unity and prosperity of the country. It is because of your vigilance at the borders that we sleep peacefully at night.”

The Chief Minister also praised the role of his colleague and Minister, Satish Sharma, a veteran’s son, in supporting the veteran community. “Satish and I will work tirelessly to ease your difficulties and support you wherever needed,” he stated.
Concluding his speech, Abdullah called on all stakeholders to uphold their responsibilities toward the veterans. “You fulfilled your duty to the nation with unparalleled dedication. Now, it is our turn to serve you and ensure your challenges are minimized. Jai Hind, Jai Jammu Kashmir,” he said..(KNS)
