Congress Clarifies Imtiyaz Khan’s Expulsion from Party Membership

Srinagar, Nov 16(KNS): The Congress Party has clarified that Imtiyaz Khan, formerly associated with the Eidgah constituency in Srinagar, is no longer affiliated with the party.

Khan was expelled from the basic membership of the Congress during the assembly elections after contesting against the spirit of the alliance, the party stated.

Irfan Naqib, President of the Srinagar District Congress Committee (DCC), said that Khan has been misrepresenting himself as a member of the Congress. “Imtiyaz Khan is attempting to create an impression that he is still associated with the party. This is false and misleading. He was expelled for contesting elections in violation of the alliance agreement,” Naqib said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

The Congress accused Khan of misleading the people of Eidgah and the district administration by using the Congress platform for personal gains. “Khan’s activities are entirely his own, and the party will not bear any responsibility for them,” the statement read.

The Congress reiterated that all individuals who contested elections against the alliance agreement have already been expelled, leaving no room for ambiguity regarding their status within the party.

The party urged the public and the Srinagar district administration not to recognize Imtiyaz Khan as a Congress representative.(KNS).
