Congress launches ‘Har Ghar Dastak’ campaign to raise awareness on J-K statehood

SRINAGAR, Nov 4 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Congress chief Tariq Hameed Karra on Tuesday said the party has launched a new campaign titled “Har Ghar Dastak” to raise public awareness about the significance of statehood and the rights associated with it.

“Our state is our right. To take this forward, we have started a new programme called Har Ghar Dastak” Karra said. “In a small pamphlet, written in both Kashmiri and Urdu, we have explained in simple language what rights and privileges people would regain if Jammu and Kashmir gets back its statehood, and what they currently lack without it.”

He said the pamphlets will be distributed across the Valley in the coming week. “We will send copies to the entire Kashmir valley so that people can understand our message clearly,” he said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Karra also referred to the ongoing political developments in Bihar, saying that “the entire country has now come to know about the issue of vote theft.” He said that both the National Conference and the BJP used the same slogan—“vote thief, leave your seat”—in the assembly.

Karra added that the Congress would continue to take a “principled stand” and not join the cabinet until full statehood is restored to Jammu and Kashmir.

He also said that party leader Rahul Gandhi believes in fair representation for all sections of society, “according to their population and rights.”(KNS).
