Srinagar, August 26 (KNS): The National Conference and Congress solidified their alliance on Monday evening, with Congress to contest in Bandipora, Sangrama, Langate, Shalteng, Dooru, Anantnag Central, and Tral in Kashmir.
National Conference Senior leader told Kashmir News Sevice (KNS) that the alliance partners have also agreed on a "friendly contest" in Bhaderwah, Inderwal, Doda, Banihal, and Sopore.
He also said that Kulgam has been given to CPI (M), while Chenani has been allocated to the Panthers Party.
The alliance solidified on Monday evening after intensive negotiations, seat-sharing agreement was finalized with 51 seats to NC and 32 to Congress.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The alliance was first announced on June 21 by NC President Dr. Farooq Abdullah, following a meeting between Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, and Dr. Abdullah during Gandhi's two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir.
The alliance has been shaped through a series of high-stakes meetings, marked by rigorous deliberations and complex discussions on seat-sharing strategies.(KNS)
