Srinagar, Aug 02 (KNS): J&K DPAP General Secretary for Kashmir and in-charge of the Charar-i-Sharief constituency, Er. Nazir Yatoo Friday urged government to construct a ring road connecting the popular tourist destinations of Yousmarg and Gulmarg.
He said that this project would not only bolster the local economy but also create employment opportunities for thousands of families.
In a statement issued to the media, Er. Nazir Yatoo highlighted the transformative potential of the proposed road.
"This route will be iconic, linking key areas such as Villnag, Hajan, Dodhpatri, Tosamaidan, and Gulmarg," he said. "I urge the administration under LG Manoj Sinha to initiate the demarcation of this road. It will be a game changer for the local population and significantly enhance the tourism sector in the region," the senior leader said.
Er. Yatoo said that this imitative is aimed for strategic importance of improving infrastructure to support tourism, which is a vital industry in Kashmir.
"The construction of this ring road would facilitate better connectivity between major tourist spots, making travel easier and more accessible for visitors. Senior DPAP leader said that the development of this road network could lead to a surge in ancillary services, such as hotels, restaurants, and transport, thereby creating numerous jobs and supporting the livelihoods of many families in the region.
"The economic ripple effect could extend beyond tourism, fostering broader regional development and improving the quality of life for residents," he said.
General Secretary DPAP Er. Yatoo said that the construction of this ring road is seen not only as a physical infrastructure project but as a catalyst for broader socio-economic benefits, enhancing the region's attractiveness as a tourist destination while supporting the economic empowerment of its inhabitants.
"This project from Yousmarg to Gulmarg represents a significant opportunity for the Kashmir region. It wll facilitate better access to scenic locations and boosting the tourism industry, the project promises to bring substantial economic and social benefits," he said.
Er. Yatoo urged authorities to commence the demarcation and construction process, highlighting the potential of this initiative to transform the region's economic landscape and improve the livelihoods of its people. (KNS)
