Jammu, Jan 20 (KNS): The Crime Branch (Economic Offences Wing), Jammu, has registered a case against three employees of M/S Jammu Flour Mills for embezzling crores of rupees by committing criminal breach of trust through a meticulously planned conspiracy.
In a statement issued to KNS, the Crime Branch said, "A written complaint was received from Arun Mahajan, Managing Partner of M/S Jammu Flour Mills, Gangyal, Jammu, alleging that three employees—Dikshant Anand (Area Salesman), Narinder Chopra (Billing Clerk), and Amit Sharma (Accountant)—hatched a criminal conspiracy to commit fraud and financial irregularities worth Rs 2 to Rs 2.5 crores."
The statement further revealed that the fraudulent activities came to light in September 2024 when the complainant's Operations Manager, Moti Lal, reported suspicious billing activities involving Chopra. "Following this, the complainant conducted a self-audit and subsequently engaged a Chartered Accountant for a detailed audit. The findings exposed startling financial mismanagement, including diversion of NEFT payments to unrelated parties and under-billing in cash transactions," the Crime Branch said.
Elaborating on the modus operandi, the Crime Branch said, "The accused would reduce the billed amount for transactions—for example, a bill of Rs 1 lakh would be altered to Rs 80,000, and the difference of Rs 20,000 was pocketed.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe Accountant, Amit Sharma, manipulated financial records to conceal these discrepancies, while Dikshant Anand created fake parties and sold goods to multiple retailers under fictitious names. Additionally, book debts collected from various parties were embezzled, and payments were diverted to the bank accounts of family members and acquaintances of the accused."
Confirming the registration of the case, Senior Superintendent of Police (Crime), Jammu, Benam Tosh, said, "An FIR No. 06/2025 under Sections 409, 465, 467, 468, 470, 471, 472, and 120-B of the IPC has been registered at Police Station EOW, Crime Branch, Jammu, against Dikshant Anand, son of Harvinder Anand, resident of Rehamble, Udhampur; Narinder Chopra, son of Satish Kumar Chopra, resident of Lakhdata Bazar, Jammu; and Amit Sharma, son of Bahadur Chand Sharma, resident of Preet Nagar, Jammu."
The Crime Branch stated that a thorough investigation into the matter has been launched to determine the full extent of the embezzlement and identify any other individuals involved. (KNS)
