Srinagar, Oct 3 (KNS): In a commendable initiative towards both security and environmental consciousness, the Alpha Company of 44 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) recently concluded a special 'Swachhata Pakhwada' from September 15 to September 30.
"This initiative, entrusted with the security of the High Court of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh, not only prioritised public safety but also championed environmental stewardship," said spokesperson.
He added that on the auspicious occasion of Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary, a special program was organized and the event witnessed the participation of second in Command of 44 battalion Partha Saratha Ghosh, and Company Commander, Assistant Commandant Aqif Ahmad, who administered the swachhata pledge to the troops.

He noted, "Swachhata, or cleanliness, is not just a duty but a commitment towards a sustainable future.
"It is our collective responsibility to preserve the sanctity of our surroundings," he said.
The campaign focused on raising awareness about effective plastic waste management, a critical issue in today's environmental landscape.
The troops undertook a comprehensive cleanliness drive in and around the campus area, ensuring every nook and cranny was attended to.
