Cultural Program Highlights Nationalism, Peace, and Brotherhood as a Precursor to Republic Day 2025

Srinagar, January 14 (KNS):  A special cultural program was organized as a precursor to Republic Day 2025 celebrations by the Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages in collaboration with The Kashmir Music Club Srinagar. The event, held at Pt. Bhajan Sopori Auditorium, Polo View Srinagar, aimed to promote nationalism, peace, and brotherhood through the medium of art and culture.


The occasion was graced by Mr. Nasir Aslam Wani, Advisor to the Honorable Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, as the Chief Guest, while Mr. Farooq Ahmad Shah, MLA Gulmarg and former bureaucrat, was the Guest of Honor.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Nasir Aslam Wani emphasized the importance of cultural programs in fostering unity and patriotism. He highlighted the government’s commitment to supporting the artists of Jammu and Kashmir and preserving the region’s rich cultural heritage.

Mr. Farooq Ahmad Shah expressed his gratitude to the organizers for holding such a beautifully orchestrated event despite the challenging winter conditions. Mr. Shakeel ul Rahman, Divisional Head of the Academy, delivered the welcome address, reaffirming the Academy’s commitment to preserving and promoting authentic art forms and providing support to deserving artists across Jammu and Kashmir.

Renowned artist, art promoter, and Chairman of The Kashmir Music Club Srinagar, Mr. Waheed Jeelani, who played a pivotal role in organizing the event, presented the vote of thanks. He extended his heartfelt gratitude to Mrs. Harvinder Kour, Secretary of the Academy, and the entire Academy staff for their cooperation and seamless execution of the event.

The program featured mesmerizing performances by veteran Kashmiri artists, including M.A. Shakhsaz, G.A. Sofi, Qaisar Nizami, Aja Rah, Munir Ahmad Mir, Waheed Jeelani, Shahi Mumtaz, and others. The artists captivated the audience with melodious patriotic songs, adding fervor and enthusiasm to the Republic Day celebrations.
