DC Srinagar visits UPHC Batamaloo; inspects available health care facilities

 SRINAGAR NOVEMBER 30(KNS): Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat Saturday visited the Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC) Batamaloo and took stock of its functioning and health care facilities being given to the patients.

The DC also reviewed the progress of ongoing infrastructure upgradation works to augment the patient care facilities.

The Deputy Commissioner inspected various wards, diagnostic labs, drug store and other sections of the Health Centre.

On the occasion, the DC also interacted with the Staff , patients and their attendents.

The DC stressed the Staff to ensure better medical facilities to the patients and treat them in a compatiainate manner.

During the visit the DC also inspected the ongoing infrastructure upgradation works on installation of lift being executed at cost of Rs 29.28 lakh under District Capex.

The DC also assessed the status of the recently installed TRUENAT machine at the UPHC which was recently provided by the Deputy Commissioner under District Mineral Fund is an advanced, chip-based, rapid molecular test device for the diagnosis of Tuberculosis (TB) in the patients and can conduct four tests simultaneously within approximately one hour, marking a significant advancement in TB diagnosis in Srinagar District.


On the occasion, the Hospital Administration, patients and local people expressed their gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner for providing the state-of-the-art 4-bay Truenat machine, besides for facilitating the entire process to ensure smooth coordination for the successful implementation of the initiative.

They also thanked DC Srinagar for his unwavering support for National Tuberculosis Elimination Program (NTEP) activities and playing pivotal role in strengthening efforts to eliminate TB in the District

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat emphasized that this machine will plays a vital role in improving TB diagnosis and treatment to make Srinagar TB free soon.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

The DC hoped that the TRUENAT  machine will not only ensure rapid and accurate TB detection but is also capable of identifying rifampicin resistance, which is crucial for diagnosing drug-resistant TB.

The DC appreciated the efforts of all the stockholders and directed the Officers to further improve the efforts to deal with gaps and work in close coordination to achieve the goal of TB free Srinagar. He also emphasized on ensuring that all TB care services are effectively delivered on ground to achieve TB Free Status for the whole Srinagar District by strictly adhering to the NTEP Guidelines.

Notably, District Srinagar has already received the Gold category award during 2022-SNC through the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, GOI.

Pertinent to mention that Urban Primary Health Centre(UPHC) Batamaloo has been awarded with
the National Quality Assurance Standard (NQAS) Certification by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Governmentt of India


Besides, Chief Planning Officer, Mr. Fayaz Ahmad Dar, In-charge Zonal Medical Officer Batamalo, Dr. Intikhab, District Health Officer, Dr. Rubeena Maqbool, District Tuberculosis Officer, Abdul Rouf, Dr. Maheen Lateef, other concerned were present on the occasion.(KNS).
