Srinagar, March 08 (KNS): In a strong appeal to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, DDC Member Khimber, Kaiser Ganei, has raised alarm over the illegal occupation of 200 kanals of Hasbe Rasad land in Khimber, allegedly grabbed by the land mafia.

The land, which rightfully belongs to the people, has been wrongfully usurped, leaving the majority deprived of their legal entitlement. Ganei has urged immediate government intervention to restore justice and reclaim the land as per the law.

Denouncing the growing influence of land grabbers, Ganei emphasized that the encroached land could serve vital public needs, including education and healthcare.

However, unchecked illegal activities and administrative negligence have led to massive losses for the people of Khimber. He described the mafia’s high-handedness as alarming and warned that further delay in action could deepen the crisis.

"The land in Khimber is not just property—it is an opportunity for the community’s progress.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelSchools, healthcare centers and other essential public welfare projects could transform this area. But instead, the land mafia has seized it while the people suffer. This cannot be allowed to continue," Ganei asserted.

He stressed that failure to curb such encroachments emboldens illegal activities and deprives the community of its fundamental rights. He requested CM Omar Abdullah and the NC leadership to take decisive steps to dismantle the land mafia’s grip and ensure the land is returned to its rightful beneficiaries.

Ganei called for a thorough investigation, strict legal action against those involved and immediate measures to prevent further encroachments. He reiterated that public welfare must take precedence over vested interests and demanded transparency and accountability in land management.(KNS)
