Qalamabad, Feb 04 (KNS): In a significant move to enhance public convenience and safety, District Development Council (DDC) Member Mawer, Khurshid Ahmad Dar, on Sunday inaugurated newly installed street lights in Qalamabad market. The project, executed by the Roads & Buildings (R&B) Department, involved the installation of 51 street lights at a cost of ?15 lakh.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by key officials, including Executive Engineer R&B Division Langate, Gulzar Ahmad, SHO Qalamabad Inspector Ashraf Bonyari, contractor Mohsin Rafiq Bhat, and several civil dignitaries. Speaking on the occasion, DDC Member Khurshid Ahmad Dar expressed gratitude to the R&B Department, particularly Executive Engineer Gulzar Ahmad, for ensuring the installation of an adequate number of street lights in public places. He emphasized that the initiative would greatly benefit residents, traders, and commuters by improving nighttime visibility and security in the area.
The local community hailed the development, calling it a much-needed step toward infrastructural improvement in the region. (KNS)
