Srinagar, Jan 9 (KNS): Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Ministers Omar Abdullah and Farooq Abdullah have weighed in on the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, emphasizing the broader role of opposition alliances beyond just contesting polls.
Omar Abdullah stated that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Congress, and other opposition parties must determine their strategy against the BJP in Delhi. "As of now, I can't say anything because we are not directly involved in Delhi elections. It is up to AAP, Congress, and other local parties to decide how to counter the BJP effectively," he told reporters. He acknowledged AAP’s past victories and said the final call rests with the voters.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Meanwhile, Farooq Abdullah highlighted the INDIA bloc’s purpose beyond electoral battles. "The alliance is not just for elections; it is about strengthening the country and eliminating hatred. Those who think otherwise are mistaken," he said in Jammu.
Delhi will vote on February 5, with results on February 8. The nomination deadline is January 17. While Congress, once dominant in Delhi, has failed to win a seat in the last two elections, AAP secured a landslide in 2020, winning 62 out of 70 seats. (KNS)
