Karnah kupwara(KNS): In a devastating fire incident in Gabdori Hajitra, Karnah, two residential houses were completely burned down, affecting four families. According to eyewitnesses, the fire initially engulfed one house with such intensity that it soon spread to the adjacent house. Property worth lakhs of rupees inside these homes was reduced to ashes.
An official from the Fire and Emergency Services Department talked with Kashmir news service (KNS) that the fire first broke out in the house of Mohammad Ashraf and Mohammad Rafiq, sons of Noor Ali Kandal, and subsequently spread to the neighboring house of Hakimuddin and Qaiseruddin, sons of Jamaluddin.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelDespite efforts from the department and local residents, they could not contain the flames due to the dry weather, which intensified the fire.
The official mentioned that they rushed to the scene as soon as they received the information. However, the remote location and narrow roads made it challenging to access the area. Nevertheless, the efforts prevented the fire from spreading to other nearby homes. The department confirmed that four families resided in the affected houses, and the fire was reportedly caused by a leaking gas cylinder.(KNS)
