Director Sericulture J&K Attendsconcluding ceremony of 3 days Skill Development Training Programme


Srinagar, July,27 (KNS): Director Sericulture, J&K, Aijaz Ahmad Bhat Saturday engaged with Silkworm Rearers/ Farmers at the MainGrainage, Srinagar during the concluding ceremony of a three-days Skill DevelopmentTraining Programme. The event saw enthusiastic participation of the Silkworm Rearing Community from Budgam, Srinagar and Kupwara Districts who were imparted training on the latest methods of Sericulture practices which are being adopted to get best results to boost cocoon production and to significantly increase income generation capacity of Silkworm Rearers and Farmers in J&K.
On the occasion the Silkworm Rearers and Farmers lauded the efforts of the Director Sericulture J&K to actively involve the Silkworm Rearersand Farmer communities in these Skill Development Programmeswhich are being conducted under Silk SAMAGRA-2andHolistic Agriculture Development Program (HADP). They further expressed their gratitude to the Director Sericulture and the Government of J&K for the proactive approach in disseminating valuable knowledge and conducting mass awareness among the people of J&K in order to doublethe cocoon productionthereby aiding them in earning a dignified livelihood.
On this occasion, Mr. Bhat, presented Certificates to the farmers who successfully completed the three-day training course. He also distributed tool kits to the participants while reinforcing the department's commitment to equipping farmers with the necessary tools and knowledge to excel in sericulture.
Addressing the large gathering, Mr. Bhat emphasized the critical importance of such training programs for the silkworm rearing community, including Silkworm, Farmers, Youth and Women folk.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe highlighted that these initiatives provide participants with comprehensive practical experience and knowledgeof contemporary techniques not only to yield better cocoon production but also maintaining hygiene and protecting their produce in a scientific manner. He also underscored the need for continued capacity building and mass awareness and dissemination through various departmental programs.
Mr. Bhat reiterated his commitment to organizing such training programs across J&K to involve more people, particularly targeting Farmers, Youth, and Women folk. He assured the participants that their feedback and grievances would be addressed on priority and encouraged them to contact the nearest departmental offices for any queries or issues. Furthermore, he assured full support from the department through various schemes devised to benefit the sericulture community.
The training programme concluded with a renewed sense of optimism among the participants, who expressed their eagerness to implement the knowledge and skills acquired during the training to enhance their sericulture practices. The Director's assurances and proactive engagement were warmly received during the interaction session of the programme which will further solidify the department's rapport with the local farming community and will act as a catalyst for the overall growth and development of Sericulture Sector in J&K.
