Director Sericulture J&K Inspects Developmental Projects in Baramulla, Reviews Departmental Progress

 Baramulla, 12 Dec(KNS): Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, Director Sericulture J&K, today conducted an extensive tour of District Baramulla to inspect various developmental projects of the Sericulture Department. 

The visit was part of the department's ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure and improve services under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) and other initiatives.

 

During his visit, Bhat inspected the ongoing construction of the Chawki Rearing Centre at Bulgam, Baramulla.

 The Chawki Rearing Centre is a key infrastructure project aimed at boosting silkworm rearing capacity in the region.

 

He emphasized the importance of expediting the construction work and ensuring adherence to quality standards.

While interacting with department employees on site, Bhat issued on-the-spot directions to work on a mission mode to achieve the targets envisioned under HADP and other schemes presently in operation. He stressed the need for collective efforts and timely implementation to meet the department’s goals.

 

Subsequently, Bhat visited the Main Grainage in Srinagar to inspect the silkworm seed consigned for cold storage.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThese seeds are critical for the forthcoming silkworm rearers' season and will play a significant role in supporting sericulture farmers across the region.

 

Later, the Director chaired a high-level meeting to review the physical and financial status of various ongoing and new works being executed under HADP, NABARD, and CAPEX in different districts of the Kashmir division for the year 2024-25. The meeting was attended by the Executive Engineer, PWD (R&B), Sumbal, Rajbagh, Dalgate, Pattan and Senior officers of the department.

 

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the progress of developmental projects, budget utilization, and timelines for completion. Mr. Bhat urged all stakeholders to ensure timely execution of projects while maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency. He reiterated the department's commitment to strengthening the sericulture sector as a means of providing sustainable livelihoods to rural communities.

 

The Director’s visit reflects the department’s dedication to fostering development, empowering farmers, and promoting sericulture as a viable economic activity in Jammu and Kashmir.   

 

The Director Sericulture J&K was accompanied by the Development Officer E&T, J&K, District Sericulture Officer, Baramulla/ Kupwara, and other field functionaries of the department.(KNS).
