Srinagar, August, 3 (KNS):In a significant step towards promoting cleanliness and environmental sustainability, Mr. Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, IAS, Director Sericulture, J&K, inaugurated the SwachhataPakhwada Campaign at the Directorate of Sericulture Development Department in TulsiBagh, Srinagar. The 15-day initiative aims to raise awareness about the importance of cleanliness and environmental stewardship among the department’s employees and the broader community.
The launch event witnessed active participation from a large number of officers and officials of the department, demonstrating their commitment to the cause of cleanliness and environmental conservation. The campaign's objective is to instill the values of hygiene and sustainability among the staff and the community at large.
The Director Sericulture J&K, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a clean and healthy environment. He highlighted the critical role of individual and collective efforts in achieving the vision of Swachh Bharat. As a symbolic gesture to kick off the campaign, Mr. Bhat planted a sapling in the premises of the Directorate, reinforcing the department's commitment to environmental sustainability. This act underscores the importance of plantation and his commitment in combating climate change and work for enhancing biodiversity.
The SwachhataPakhwada Campaign will include a series of activities such as cleanliness drives, waste management workshops, and awareness programs. The initiative aims to engage not only the department's personnel but also the local community in various environmental conservation efforts.
