KUPWARA, SEPTEMBER 14 (KNS): The Inter-District Divisional level Volleyball Tournament, organized under Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative, culminated in an electrifying final match at BHSS Nagri Malpora today.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation, with more than 2,000 spectators cheering on the players. The tournament was graced by the presence of the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kupwara, Mohd Rouf Rehman, as the Chief Guest, along with other district officers, including Nodal Officer SVEEP (Chief Education Officer) Kupwara, Abdul Majeed Dar, and District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) ZahoorAhmad, among others.
The event aimed at promoting both sports and the importance of electoral participation, with a special focus on youth engagement in both areas.
Addressing the gathering, the ADC highlighted the critical role that sports play in shaping the youth and society at large. He emphasized that sports act as a powerful tool in keeping young people away from the growing menace of drug addiction, which is a rising concern in the society. He also encouraged the youth to actively participate in both sports and the democratic process.

The volleyball tournament's final match was a nail-biting affair, with teams from various districts vying for the coveted championship. After a fierce contest that went down to the wire, the team from District Kupwara emerged victorious, defeating their opponents, The Anantnag Volleyball team, by a scoreline of 3:2. The match was a testament to the skill, determination, and sportsmanship displayed by the players.
The atmosphere in the stadium was electric, with cheers and applause from spectators reverberating throughout the arena.
Nodal Officer SVEEP, Abdul Majeed Dar, addressed the media and emphasized the importance of the SVEEP initiative in encouraging electoral participation and appealed the participants to actively participate in the upcoming election.
As the event concluded, ADC Kupwara, along with other dignitaries, presented the championship trophy to the winning team and congratulated all the participants for their efforts and sportsmanship.(KNS)
